Date night and bragging rights :)

Tonight Cody and I had a date night. It was earlier in the week for date night but Cody planned it all over the weekend. Cody took me to Outback and to Dairy Queen for a treat afterwards. I am hitting the road tomorrow and won't be home until Sunday. My sister is graduating from 5th grade Thursday. Cody said he wanted to plan something special since I was leaving for so long. He isn't coming home with me this time since he has to work. Its the first time we have been apart (for more than a day) since we got engaged. Cody has "big" plans for cat sitting over the next few days. He is looking forward to the silence and break from me. Who am I to judge?! :) I will miss these two faces but I am looking forward to time with my family!

Earlier today I went to visit with some of my first graders at NMBP. I got a ton of hugs from students (and teachers). I miss being there daily and wish my first graders a great time in 2nd grade (and beyond)!

Off to finish packing-already packed the tissues because I will probably be crying right along with my mom and dad!

I remember the not so much joy when Carson was born-I was an only child, the only granddaughter on one side of the family and the only grandchild on the other side of the family so it was a big change to have a sudden sibling at the age of (almost) 13. From the second I held her in the hospital on March 21, 2000 (she was born on March 20 but I didn't see her until the next day), I was hooked. I am so thankful for her and the role she has played in my life. I am proud to be her big sister and all that she has accomplished the past few years!! The following are different pictures of Carson and me together over the years. I will have to find some of the beginning pictures of us together :)

Memorial Day

First off I want to say thank you to all soldiers past and present for all they have done. We are free today because of them. My future brother in law was in the army. My freshman year room mate is an active member in the Army also and is currently serving in Iraq. Please say a prayer for all active military.

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
~Lee Greenwood

Cody's niece stayed with me last night. We went and met Mandy, Boo Boo, Cody and Cory on the beach.

Todd family day :)

Today is Cody's mom's birthday. Cody and I went to the contemporary service at church with Cory then met their parents for lunch at Logans. We went to the beach for the rest of the afternoon. It was a gorgeous day!

Brotherly love :)

After the beach, we went to a Memorial Day party at Bobby and Jan's (Cody's uncle and aunt) house.

Ali (Cody's sister) called and asked if she could stop by to visit with us. Cody's niece Cassidy also came with her. We hung out together for a little while. Cassidy is staying with me tonight. This is a picture of us from April.

Cody and I took funny pictures on my computer with her!

We are watching Kung Fu Panda until bed time :) Back to the beach tomorrow to meet Cody's parents!

Crabbing

A friend of mine since elementary school asked Cody and me to join her and her husband for crabbing in Murrells Inlet (last year). I went crabbing last summer with afterschool but I had never truly gone crabbing. Cody had never been either. So Cody and I headed to meet Ashley and Greg at Greg's parents after we finally figured today was the perfect time. Boy was it a perfect day! We had so much fun!! We didn't catch many crabs (6) but we had a great time on the boat.

I was fascinated with their mouth-I had to get a picture :)

The view from The O'Sullivans

Cody loved the crabs-he had never really had crab before!

We enjoyed dinner with Greg's parents afterwards. Since we didn't catch many crabs, Greg's mom made hamburger steak with potatoes and gravy! Yummy!! We really enjoyed hanging at the inlet tonight! Thanks Greg and Ashley and Mr. and Mrs. O'Sullivan!

Yay!

After a busy Friday, I have had a low key night alone :) Its nice sometimes for quiet (except for the fact that I have called my mom and Cody about thirty times each)! I finally made a decision about our wedding invitations. The one I had been planning on using, I changed my mind on after much debate for one reason or another. Then I changed the size because of postage (its crazy that a square invitation (5.25" by 5.25") is more postage than a 5" by 7"). I have a file saved on my computer with the before and after but I will share later after all have been sent out :)

Enjoy pictures of my new bedspread! Happy Friday..
