7th

I haven't had time to blog about this yet but its been on my brain. My little sister started 7th grade last Thursday. I was in 7th grade when she was born. I called her Thursday morning to talk to her before school and hung up with tears in my eyes. We don't talk as much as I would like and its amazing to me that she is starting her teen years. She is so like me in a lot of ways and the polar opposite of me in so many more ways. My mom and I talked that night and I was able to get the scoop of her day from mom's perspective and then I talked to Carson for a few minutes. I wish her success in 7th grade but I also pray for the choices she makes as these teen years start. Its a hard age and things are so much different since I was there. Here are two pictures that I shared on my facebook Thursday. Mom told me thanks because she had been fine that morning until she saw these pictures :) Carson and I used to favor each other a lot and our baby pictures are identical but I don't think we look as much alike anymore...then I saw the picture on the right and realized we are starting to look alike again. Love you nut!

Thirty-One's fall catalog comes out soon and I am SO excited! We have some great new products. Here is a picture of me at conference holding the mini utility bin in patchwork paisley. You might say this looks very familiar because it looks like boho patchwork paisley. It is the pattern but revamped for fall with purples :)

At my meeting on Thursday, I got the winning ticket! I won this camera organizing book bag! I was so excited! I can't wait to order my camera strap out of the new catalog to match my book bag :)

First day

Yesterday was a great first day! I had all 22 kids present and we had a great day learning about each other :) Here are some pictures of me before leaving home and then at school with fellow teachers!

Sweet Frog recently opened in NMB and I have been a frequent customer this summer. It was the place I would meet some of my kids from last year to enjoy some ice cream and catch up with them. Here are two of my visits from last week. The first is Lauren and the second is Emily.

Below is a gift I received at open house and it was AMAZING!

This was from last night. Gauge helped me drive to my in laws to eat dinner while Cody took the picture. My mother in law sent me home with soup for my first day of work. I have ginger ale and I am ready for the first day :)

New

Tomorrow starts a new year with 22 new faces and I am so excited! I wish my previous 23 the most success in 2nd grade :)

Last night was open house and I was able to meet 18 of my new kiddos. I can't wait to learn more about them and see how they grow this year. Here are a few pictures from open house:

Pinterest

As every teacher knows, pinterest is addicting! I have found so many great ideas for my classroom and our house this summer and such a great time decorating both places. I got a wild hair earlier today when I couldn't find something on one of my boards and decided to reorganize my school board into 9 smaller boards. I have only moved 200 in about 2 hours because pinterest is running SUPER slow but I am hoping this will allow me to find stuff easier and remember some great pins..I have found quite a few already that I forgot. Classroom

My classroom isn't 100% ready to go but its getting closer to being ready for August 22nd! Here are a few updated pictures. I realized when updating these pictures I took Tuesday, that I changed a few things this afternoon when Cody and I stopped by. He went to put up my number line (I am too short to reach) and I changed around a few things and added my rugs back in. Be looking for more pictures soon :)

I got to enjoy dinner with Ashley who is pregnant with her first baby. I was the maid of honor in her wedding two years ago. Ash was the first friend I ever had when we moved to NMB.
