New

Tomorrow starts a new year with 22 new faces and I am so excited! I wish my previous 23 the most success in 2nd grade :)

Last night was open house and I was able to meet 18 of my new kiddos. I can't wait to learn more about them and see how they grow this year. Here are a few pictures from open house:

Classroom

My classroom isn't 100% ready to go but its getting closer to being ready for August 22nd! Here are a few updated pictures. I realized when updating these pictures I took Tuesday, that I changed a few things this afternoon when Cody and I stopped by. He went to put up my number line (I am too short to reach) and I changed around a few things and added my rugs back in. Be looking for more pictures soon :)

Character Parade

Yesterday, NMBP celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday by having a character parade! The adults had as much fun as the students :) I have parental permission for all my students pictures to be shared on the classroom blog but I also have it for certain students on my personal blog.

Today is our last day of school. Yesterday we enjoyed Leaps and Bounces, Pajama day with hot chocolate, cookies and a movie. It was a great day.

Today is the final day of school until January 4th..whew! Excited to enjoy Christmas with our families and go on our honeymoon :)

Spirit

I am so proud of my class! We won the spirit award for the 2nd time in just 4 weeks!! 

There were 18 of the 22 students that participated today by wearing their school spirit of blue, gold or NMBP shirts. Great job!!

Bad day

How can it be a bad day..

when a parent looks at you and says thanks for all you are doing with my child and to keep up the work because I am a great teacher

AND

When you are getting married in a month.

Well this made my day AND was my day :)

Now I am babysitting Jacob and Katie and then I get to go home and see this bundle of joy and it's an awesome day!

Yoga

My kids started yoga last week and they are loving it! Here is a picture of them during yoga. We have it on Mondays from 7:40-8:00. The breathing techniques are really helping the children in the room.

He brought me lunch and sat right in the middle of my class. They loved it! I told the kids they could call him Mr. Cody but a few wanted to call him Mr. Todd. They can't wait for him to come back..

Thursday..

I must say I love my job but I love my job on Thursdays especially. Why you might ask? Well...its chicken day in Horry County and well by goodness who finds a meal these days for $3 :) It might not be healthy but it sure is YUMMY! haha

Also in school notes..my class finished our benchmark one tests today AND I turned in the results to the curriculum coaches for the school. Its not due until Wednesday of next week so I was happy to have that completed and submitted on time..it might not happen again hehe

I think I just found a house that is HIGHLY being considered for Cody and I to buy. The realtor we have been talking with sent me an email earlier today and I read it when I got home. As soon as I saw it, I fell in love...Cody and I (hopefully) will go look at it this weekend! Then figure out how to buy it haha

Room 612

Wow. I am truly humbled. I made some great friends at NMBP in the Spring. Some of these great friends came and helped me in my room today! Around 9 when I walked in, Mrs. Ward and Kristin were ready to start helping move the rest of my curriculum in my room. Anna joined us soon after and we were busy all day! I should have taken a before picture of the messiness of my room. There was stuff everywhere!

Thanks to my friends. My mini-vacation will be very enjoyable this weekend! I am so excited my room is almost ready!
