Character Parade

Yesterday, NMBP celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday by having a character parade! The adults had as much fun as the students :) I have parental permission for all my students pictures to be shared on the classroom blog but I also have it for certain students on my personal blog.

conferences

Today was my first full set of parent conferences! I met with 8 of my 11 scheduled appointments. A few had to be rescheduled. It was nice to catch up with the parents and go over everything from school! My 23 kids are really doing a good job and I enjoyed getting to share this with their parents. We also made some ideas for behavior and spelling skills. If any teachers out there have ideas about fun spelling homework ideas, please share :)

1st Grade

I started first grade a few years ago :) This is obviously no surprise since I am now teaching it but I wanted some pictures of my first day to share with my students. I texted my mom and asked for my first day of school picture for 1st grade and she says of you crying or actually in your classroom..wow I hope my kids aren't hearing that from their mom in 18 years :)

My mom got the pictures in the mail to me and they arrived last night. My first grade teacher is retiring at the end of this year but it will be fun to be her coworker for a year!

Busy Busy

I have a ton of stuff I want to blog about but school has taken over my life so tomorrow my WILW will be amazing...well maybe if I finish this work :)

By the way, I want to officially announce since I forgot yesterday, that my fiance started his new job with the city of NMB and I am super proud of him! Go Cody!! More details to come soon!

Also-I took a break for a few minutes from school stuff and facetimed my sister again. Tonight I got to talk to my dad. The look on his face when he realized my face was on my sister's ipod touch was hilarious!! It started with a confused look then turned into this:

Oh you know..

Its been one of those days. I started off my day in Conway at class. I am taking a class for the first time in my life during the summer. Its a semesters worth of information crammed into 4 weeks. Let me explain this..today was the first day. The week of July 4th is my last week. Yes I said that right! I am crazy! While I am taking the class, I am full time at the daycare. I am praying for strength to get all my work finished correctly :) The teacher said we should spend 3-6 hours a day on this class. So I started my 4 hours today...

Then I went to CDC to enjoy my kids for the afternoon :)

As I was leaving CDC, I got an email from thirty-one. My conference bucks I earned posted to my account!! YAY!

Then while stressing over this exciting (Mom always taught me not to lie-haha) paper. I realized I needed to ask my mom a question. I couldn't think of a word for what I was writing about and google just wasn't helping. Well, my phone was on the charger and who wants to walk to the bathroom?! :) So I realized it was time to test the facetime app on my mac computer. Well, what do you know?! Here is my sister that I facetimed to locate my mom!

 Well of corse its not a day if I don't have a wedding update. I have been seeing these hangers a lot more frequently for weddings and I love the idea. I looked on etsy and found some I liked. Mom said she would get it for me :)
