Rain Rain Go Away!

While I am sick of all this rain we have been getting, I had a great Thursday! I enjoyed my lunch date with Mrs. Allen (a fellow Burst teacher). We have lunch together on Thursdays and I must say I am loving Chicken Day!

Tonight, we had dinner with Cody's parents. His older sister, Ali, and her daughter, Cassidy, were there. Cody's twin brother, Cory, and sister, Kenzie, and her husband, David, were there also. We had a full house but it was fun spending the evening together!!

 Cody and I got to keep Cassidy just before Christmas. We went shopping, to the movies and to lunch. She is holding her monkey that we got her from Scentsy!

WILW

I am loving the concept of What I'm Loving Wednesday (WILW)!

I am loving that I am starting to catch up on school. I have never in my life been behind in school so this is a hard concept for me.

I am loving that on Saturday Anna, a co-teacher/friend, is taking some engagement pictures of Cody and me!! Cody and I are so excited to get our pictures by a great photographer and then go to dinner with her and her hubby!

I am loving that tomorrow is Thursday! I thought it was Thursday all day today but I sure am ready for the real thing!

I am also loving that my grandpa made it through his surgery today and hopefully it will help his back! I am a Grampy's girl so this warms my heart..fingers are crossed it works and relieves his pain!!

Class

Last night in class, we were working on genres. I made a Tweet poem for my multi-genre project that I wanted to share. My multi-genre project is about weddings :)

Our Wedding/fall/is the season/october/is the month/22/is the day/2011/is the year/Amanda/is the bride/Cody/is the groom/Our wedding!

The point of tweet poems is to be SHORT! We have also been working with technology and if you haven't guessed, the tweet poem is for twitter (which we don't have).

Rainy Sunday :)

I won't lie..I have not moved off the couch today and it has been AMAZING! I needed a day to rest and catch up on my DVR..Haha!

This is the dinner I cooked last night. My tastefully simple (TS) goodies came in from a party I hosted two weeks ago. I made BBQ (my first time ever making it), cheesy parmesan biscuits, and a baked potato with TS seasoning salt and bacon bacon! Our desert was the key lime cheeseball from TS! Cody had warned his brother that we would end up at Zaxbys since I had never made BBQ before...he was wrong :)

Splendid Saturday

I was up really late last night. I didn't go to sleep until 3:30! I found a ton of pictures from high school and the first 3 years of college last night. They had all been saved to CDs but I thought I lost them when my computer crashed. I was so excited because I am making an album with pictures from the beginning years of Cody and I.

Its always nice catching up with friends/previous coworkers. This week Sissy and I were thrilled to get a visit from our After schooler friend Ms. Nillie!! She is visiting all the way from Cali!

Nillie also had Mia (her daughter) who has grown so much in the 10 months they have been gone!! So happy to have you home Nillie!!

Today, I am loving a great Wednesday. I had a good day at NMBP school, got some work accomplished for grad school, and got my nails filled :)

I am loving the fact my family was here for the whole weekend to help do wedding stuff and to celebrate Carson's 11th birthday. I have the best parents and sister!

I am also loving my future version of the Todd Family. I have the best cat and fiance :)

Loving my job

If you have been around me the past few weeks, you know I am loving my job at NMBP. I have never in my life felt so welcome at a new job. I have loved my job as a reading interventionist. The point behind this is the people I have met and the things I did not realize I knew. I feel that in just the month I have been working there, I have grown as a teacher. Today, I started my 5th week and it was another great day followed by a great day at school! I started this blog just because I loved reading one of my coworkers. I found out tonight it can actually be used for my multi-genre project for school! This is just a great concept to me...I get to gab and it counts for school!

Off to finish some school work..'til tomorrow :)

Today we sampled the menu at Surf Club. My parents, grandparents, sister, Cody and his parents all went to have lunch to try to figure out our menu for the reception :) Never a mistake enjoying their food!

Busy, Busy, Fun day :)

Today was just perfect. I went wedding dress shopping with my mom, grandma, sister, Jill (my matron of honor) and Mylissa (family friend/wedding coordinator). It was the 2nd dress I tried on...we walked in at 10..I was ready by 10:15. I never thought it would be that fast! The funny part-it was actually the first dress Charlene (the amazing lady at Amanda's collections that helped me) wanted me to try on..Here are a few pictures of the fun (minus the dress-that's a surprise!!)...

Afterwards we went shopping and to dinner..then putt putt for Carson's birthday (tomorrow)..we got some great pictures and enjoyed a great firework show at Broadway at the Beach. It was the first show of 2011!

Findlay Family Weekend

My family (Mom, Dad, Carson and my grandparents) is visiting for the weekend. My sister, Carson, turns 11 on Sunday. We have a full weekend of birthday fun and wedding fun :)

Tonight we started off the weekend at Game Zone in Myrtle Beach. Carson got the jackpot at the game with 1,000 tickets!

We really enjoyed our dinner now for a sister night! Wedding dress shopping in the AM!

Blogging World

I have loved reading blogs of my teacher friends and decided it was time to join the world of blogging. Between the wedding planning and my jobs and graduate school, I figured this would be a nice release of stress. Its also a good way to document this great time in mine and Cody's life :)
